Manager Frequently Asked Questions
What responsibilities do I have on game day?
The best advice regarding game day responsibilities is to prepare well in advance. Items like game reports, referee fees and other recurring tasks can be prepared at the beginning of the season.
The following should be addressed on game day:
- Their Contact: Make sure you have the name and phone number of the contact person for the opposing team. If you are unsure of how to get to the fields or if last minute problems arise, this contact person may be vital.
- Your Contact: Be sure that you or some other designated person is available just in case a last minute phone call is required.
- Player Passes, Team Roster, Game Report and Referee Fees: You'll need to give all four of these to the referees before the start of every game. Don't wait until the last minute to make sure you've got everything in order. Each team is responsible for one-half of the required referee fees. The player passes should be kept together by using a ring or other binder.
- Maps to an Away Game: Make sure everyone knows how to get to the fields and that they allow enough travel time for adequate pre-game warm-ups. Maps and related links are available on this site.
- Referee Contact for Home Game: In the event that game is cancelled or rescheduled, the referee assignor must be notified so that the referees can be rescheduled. Failure to contact the referee coordinator will result in a fine that is payable by the home team.
- Snacks: If you're managing a team in one of the younger age brackets, make sure that everyone knows when their (all-important) snack duty is scheduled.
